EP01 - Captain Moonboot Goes Home!!

Beginning in the End
Fortunately its not the actual end but merely the end of an easily identifiable chapter that began at the end of December 2025 and really picked up steam on April 23rd, 2026.
You see in late December, probably around my birthday on the 29th, I was up in the middle of the night, as many men my age will be, to have a whiz and stumble back to bed. This trip that I'd successfully navigated hundreds of times over the years didn't go as smoothly this time and I stubbed a couple of toes on the steel leg of a chair alongside the bed.
I cursed, crawled into bed and went back to sleep.

Greetings and salutations friends, old and new. My name is Scott Marshall. I'm a semi-retired 65-year-old male who has resided in midwestern Ontario for most of my life.
Over the coming days and months I'm hoping to tell a story, share some thoughts and take a look at the world around us. I want to look through a lens of good old truth, generously sprinkled with sarcasm and humour. I hope you will enjoy my stories and journey.
Oh, about those toes
By mid January 2026 it was quite obvious that my toes were not really healing. In fact they seemed to be getting worse and within a couple more months, became downright ugly.

Okay, I get it they were far from pretty here but by the beginning of April they had deteriorated rapidly and started looking like this.

Oh oh, I went to see the Doctor in Emergency to get something for the pain and right away he made arrangements for home care and sent a requisition in to have me lined up for a CT Scan at Groves in Fergus.
There was a bit of a delay getting the appointment but that was mostly due to my inability to get a ride down there. Anyway, the stars finally lined up and I was scheduled for the CT Scan on April 23rd.
Allergy Alert!!
Unbeknownst to me, I am allergic to the contrast dye that is injected to get a better view for the scan. I
